Wheeler faculty member Rebecca Boswell will direct 3 individual weeks of Zap! Comic Book Summer Program. A unique, creative and exciting offering during the summer.
Zap! Comics: Monster-Pet Madness
Pre-Camp 1, Week of June 11th – 15th
Creatures and cute animals will come to life in this mixed media exploration of comic art. Tell a story with visual impact using words and pictures. Learn special tips on how to make monster characters extra creepy and pet characters especially adorable.
Zap! Comics: Superheroes & Superstars
Pre-Camp 2, Week of June 18th – 22nd
Exciting characters will whiz across your comic panels. This week, learn to tell a story with visual impact using words and pictures. Draw characters in motion and use powerful word bubbles to enhance your art, plus learn special tips on character design.
Zap! Comics: Kawaii and Manga: The Art of Japanese Comics
Session 1, Week of June 25th – 29th
This week, focus on comic styles that come from Japan, where comic art originated. Tell your own story with visual impact using words and pictures, taking inspiration from Japanese culture of comics.
