Dear Wheeler Summer families,
We are excited and so ready for Summer 2021! Your positive feedback and unwavering support during this past year are some of the many reasons why we are committed to hosting an in-person camp this summer. Most importantly, now more than ever, we know that kids need camp!
As we turn the page to 2021, we can say with confidence that we’ve got this! The Wheeler School has been operating in-person since September. Our team has been successfully running in-person after school programs, facilitating a new 6th-grade adventure program and other in-person initiatives at both of the school’s campuses with guidance from Wheeler School Healthy Task Force. We have experienced the effectiveness of stable groups and the importance of distancing and mask-wearing. We also see a light at the end of the tunnel with the news that there is a vaccine on the way.
For Summer 2021, in an attempt to be proactive and strategic while planning for camp over 6 months out, we will offer five 2-week sessions to help us establish and maintain stable groups among our campers. This is different from previous years when we have offered ten 1-week sessions. Our hope and current intent are to offer all of our summer family-friendly options. We appreciate your patience as we will continue to follow local and state guidelines to help guide us in our decision-making process. We will have a series of updates leading up to the start of camp and will continue to effectively communicate any changes or adaptations to our policies.
Let’s get ready for a summer filled with building confidence, having fun, making friends, and creating memories that will last a lifetime!
Bob, Heather, and the Wheeler Summer Team!
