Group Counselor Responsibilities:

Qualifications:
A Counselor must be 18 years old unless they have completed the Counselor In Training program. No camp experience is necessary, but experience working with children is required (ie: babysitting, coaching, family helper etc.). Wheeler Summer Camp is seeking responsible and enthusiastic lifeguards to support daily aquatics operations and help ensure a safe and positive waterfront experience for campers. Lifeguards are responsible for maintaining constant supervision of the pool areas, enforcing safety rules, assisting with swim lessons and free swim, and supporting campers as they build confidence and water safety skills. This role is ideal for individuals who enjoy working with children, take safety seriously, and want to be part of a supportive aquatics team and camp community.
Wheeler Farm features a brand-new aquatics facility that includes an 8-lane lap pool, a training pool ideal for swim lessons and younger swimmers, and an all-season dome that allows the pools to operate outdoors during the summer months and indoors year-round. This is an opportunity to work in a new facility while helping create safe, fun, and memorable camp experiences for campers and families.
Lifeguard Responsibilities:

- Ensure the safety of all swimmers through constant surveillance, active supervision, regular head counts, and strong situational awareness
- Enforce all pool and waterfront rules consistently and fairly
- Recognize and respond quickly and effectively to emergencies in and around the water
- Conduct swim tests and help monitor camper swim levels according to camp procedures
- Assist with safe entry, exit, and transitions during swim periods
- Engage positively with campers while maintaining appropriate professional boundaries
- Support a fun, inclusive, and encouraging swim environment while prioritizing safety at all times
- Inspect the pool area and equipment daily to ensure a safe environment
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the pool deck and lifeguard equipment
- Communicate any safety concerns, rule violations, or facility issues promptly to the Aquatics Director and/or Camp Administration
- Report all illnesses, injuries, or incidents immediately to the Health Supervisor and complete required documentation
- Attend and participate in all required camp, aquatics, and division meetings
- Serve as a professional role model for campers and staff
- Assist with sunscreen reminders and basic first aid when needed
- Support camp-wide activities when not on active lifeguard duty, as assigned

Wheeler Summer Camp is seeking enthusiastic water safety instructors to lead swim lessons and support daily aquatics programming. Water safety instructors are responsible for teaching campers foundational swimming and water safety skills, supporting a positive and encouraging learning environment, and helping campers build confidence in the water. This role is ideal for individuals who enjoy working with children, communicate clearly, and are passionate about teaching swimming and water safety.

Swim Instructor Responsibilities:

- Provide clear instruction, demonstrations, and constructive feedback in a positive and encouraging manner
- Assist with swim evaluations and help monitor camper swim levels according to camp procedures

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate has excellent communication, problem solving skills and is adaptable. The ideal candidate is WSI certified or is willing to become certified prior to the start of employment.

- $17-$25/hour
Wheeler Summer is seeking passionate instructors to lead some of our Specialty Camps for 2026. This summer we will run a Dance camp that requires a Dance Instructor!
Dance Specialty Camp Instructors are expected to:
- Create programming for their specific camp (approximately 3 hours)
- Explain rules and purpose of camp to keep campers and staff safe
- Plan each block with age appropriate and engaging activities for each group
- Respect equipment and facilities; keeping your materials organized and ensuring they last through the summer
- Be compassionate and show empathy towards campers
- Being flexible and adaptable
- Punctuality is a must

- Attend all camp meetings and Division meetings

Wheeler Summer is seeking passionate instructors to lead some of our Specialty Camps for 2026. This summer we will run a Pokémon camp that requires a Pokémon enthusiast Instructor!
Pokémon Specialty Camp Instructors are expected to:
- Create programming for their specific camp (approximately 3 hours)
- Explain rules and purpose of camp to keep campers and staff safe
- Plan each block with age appropriate and engaging activities for each group
- Respect equipment and facilities; keeping your materials organized and ensuring they last through the summer

Wheeler Summer is seeking passionate instructors to lead some of our Specialty Camps for 2026. This summer we will run Camp Runway camp that requires a sewing and fashion enthusiast to instruct!
Camp Runway Specialty Camp Instructors are expected to:
- Create programming for their specific camp (approximately 3 hours)
- Explain rules and purpose of camp to keep campers and staff safe
- Plan each block with age appropriate and engaging activities for each group
- Respect equipment and facilities; keeping your materials organized and ensuring they last through the summer
- Be compassionate and show empathy towards campers
- Being flexible and adaptable
- Punctuality is a must
- Follow policy and procedures, ie emergency protocols
- Attend all camp meetings and Division meetings
Perform other duties as assigned by the Camp Director or Camp Administration.
Qualifications:
Instructor must be 21 years old. Experience is necessary for specialized areas, instructor should be well versed the sewing both by hand and with a machine, able to create simple clothing with a pattern, and comfortable teaching sewing skills, and experience working with children is required (ie: babysitting, coaching, family helper etc.). The ideal candidate has excellent communication, problem solving skills and is adaptable.

Golf Specialty Camp Instructors are expected to:

Title: Camp Nurse
Reports to: Health Supervisor/ Assistant Director
Wheeler Summer’s philosophy is all about giving campers an opportunity to be active in an outdoor environment, explore new things, have fun, build confidence, and make long-lasting friendships!
Our Summer Camp programs, for children ages 3 to 15, feature a busy day full of fun camp activities for campers grouped by age. Campers who are curious to explore have a choice of our two-week-long Specialty Camps in athletics, arts, and enrichment directed by highly qualified organizations and our wonderful Wheeler faculty. Our Specialty Camps are full-day programs that include a half-day of Specialty Camp and a half-day of Traditional Camp. Swim lessons take place for campers in both programs. Wheeler summer will also offer a few specialized programs this summer that are full-day programs.
Position Purpose:
The onsite registered nurse will be scheduled to work 8:15 am to 4:15 pm, Monday through Friday, while summer camp is in session. The position will assist with health visits, emergencies, injuries, and illness management at camp. This nurse would work in collaboration with two other nurses in the health center.
Health Responsibilities:
- Administer routine medications and treatment to campers and staff.
- Ensure the health and safety of all children and staff while promoting health practices.
- Document all injuries, illnesses, and care rendered in electronic health records and maintain health records per camp policies and procedures.
- Stock and prepare first aid kits for various on site locations.
- Collaborate closely with other registered nurses that encompass the Health Team at camp.
- Provide first aid care to injured campers and staff.
- Maintain inventory of health supplies and materials.
- Contact families of ill or injured campers and update them as necessary.
- Interact with campers, families, and staff to resolve safety related issues and answer questions as needed.
- Serve as a medical and mental health emergency responder.
- Ensure a calm, caring, welcoming environment for campers and staff in the health center.
- Maintain an awareness of diversity and cultural values, beliefs, and priorities when providing care to campers and staff.
- Maintain privacy and confidentiality of health information.
- Assist with duties assigned by the Health Supervisor.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Camp Director or Camp Administration.
Qualifications:
- The qualified candidate must be physically able to participate in activities and make informed and sound judgements, particularly around safety under a variety of circumstances.
- Possess excellent communication skills, resourcefulness, and capability of working with minimal supervision and always demonstrates a high level of professionalism.
- A minimum of one year nursing experience in a community setting required
- No camp experience required but highly preferred
- BLS CPR/AED/FA certification required
- Must be a MA state licensed registered Nurse (RN) with pediatric training preferred.
- Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing
Pay Range:
- $27-$33/hour

Wheeler Summer Camp is seeking an energetic and experienced Aquatics and Program Director to lead all summer aquatics operations. This role is ideal for someone who loves working with children, building strong teams, and creating a safe and engaging aquatics program. The Aquatics and Program Director will oversee daily aquatics operations, supervise and support aquatics staff, and lead swim programming that helps campers develop confidence, water safety skills, and a lifelong love of swimming.

Aquatics Director Responsibilities:
- Oversee daily aquatics operations, ensuring a safe, organized and well-managed pool facility.
- Design and oversee the camp swim program, including swim lessons, free swim, and special aquatics activities
- Communicate with families regarding swim levels, camper progress, aquatics updates, and any incidents or concerns, helping build trust and confidence in the aquatics program.
- Develop, review, and enforce all camp policies and procedures, including emergency and aquatics protocols
- Ensure swim instruction is age-appropriate, skill-based, and promotes water safety and confidence, including camper swim evaluations and level placement
- Support an inclusive, encouraging, and skill-building aquatics environment
- Supervise, support, and evaluate lifeguards and swim instructors by providing ongoing coaching, feedback, and performance support through regular staff meetings and trainings
- Ensure all aquatics staff maintain required certifications and professional standards
- Ensure the safety of all campers and staff in and around the pool through strong supervision systems and risk awareness
- Oversee implementation of active lifeguarding, regular head counts, and safe swim procedures
- Lead emergency response at the waterfront and ensure all staff are trained and prepared to act
- Maintain required safety ratios ensure the pool is staffed with certified lifeguards and/or water safety instructors for all swim lessons, free swim, and aquatics programming.
- Create and maintain waterfront staffing assignments and adapt positively to schedule, staffing, or program changes
- Communicate regularly with Camp Administration regarding aquatics operations, needs and concerns through regular communication and in all required camp leadership meetings
- Maintain organization, cleanliness, and proper use of all aquatics equipment and facilities
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Camp Director or Director of Operation of the Farm
Qualifications:
Must be at least 18 years old (21+ preferred). Must have current Lifeguard Certification and Water Safety Instructor. CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer, First Aid, and Waterfront or Lifeguard Instructor certification preferred. Previous experience supervising lifeguards and/or teaching swim lessons required. CPO certification preferred but not required. Strong leadership, decision-making, communication, and emergency management skills are essential. Experience working with children in a camp or instructional setting is strongly preferred.
Orientation: June 16-18, 2026, required.
Hours: 8:15 AM-4:15 PM Monday through Friday with some exceptions.
Salary: $55-65,000
